Dollah Kassim,Rajagopal,Mat Noh,Samad Alapitchay,Quah Kim Song and the list goes on...Have you guys ever heard of their names?

Well,to be frank, I don't even recognise any of them when I was kid.Not until my dad started talking to me about the history of local football. When I was in primary school, my dad used to talk to me about how dazling and great the Lions were in the 1970s up to the early 1990s.

It's definitely hard to belive by just listening to stories that's been told without any video recordings for references. But judging from what i've been hearing from the people who have witnessed the moments of the glorious era, it have somehow sunk into me that hearing is almost believing.

That made me want to watch the movie that reveals the history and the glimpse of what had actually happenned during that era, although I know that the movie might not be 100% accurate.

I made my way to the cinema just now. I initially wanted to watch it with my dad, but unfortunately, my dad has to do "o-t"(over-time).

I enjoyed the movie quite a lot ! It's not just about the storyline that made me enjoy the movie, credits also needs to be given to the whole production team for making the movie, believable !

But from my opinion, this movie will only make sense to the local soccer die hard fans. However, I also encourage those who wants to get to know the local football scene, to also watch.

But an advise from me is to bring a person who knows at least a bit about local football when watching, or at least do a little research on it, or you'll get "lost" and have a hard time understanding the movie.

Ramadan Around the Corner...

Once again, by the grace of Allah, we meet a wonderful season to improve the quality of our ibadah to Him. This is the month of Syabaan, a month which the Prophet s.a.w. had always intensified his acts of worship to Allah s.w.t.. Maybe some of you may ask, so what should we do particularly in the month of Syabaan?

-It is clear from the hadith that the Prophet s.a.w. had encouraged us to fast, partly in our preparation for Ramadan.

-it is highly encouraged that we perform all good acts, such as performing the night prayers (qiyamullail), giving charity (sadaqah), reciting the Holy Quran and performing various other good deeds.

-Whatever we choose to do, let us do them continuously (with istiqamah), and to do them whilst being aware and conscious of the values behind these acts.

Believe...
Believe in yourself and you'll find that anything that seems impossible, will turn out possible.
Saying or having thoughts that you can't make it before you even give yourself a chance to try means that you are already defeated. Not by other people, but yourself.. Sometimes, you'll get surprised by how well you have done after attempting the task that you might just have given up.

Sometimes, you get complacent when you think that you have done enough and are satisfied with it. But when you get to know the end result that does not meet your expectations, that is when you feel down, depressed and the sudden drop in self-confidence.

These are just my thoughts and experiences. It may not be true, but like I said, these are just my thoughts and experiences that I want to share...

However, as a Muslim, I believe in making du'a, followed by making an effort and doing my best, and finally, leaving the rest to Allah s.w.t. .

If Allah brings you to it, He'll bring you through it... Suffering is a gift, in it is hidden mercy.

Tired....That's what i'm feeling right now. The week of sian-ness is reaching its peak! Week 17 will be my final lesson week, where all the assignments are to be submitted and week 18 will be the Minor submission week. After week 18, i'll be having my 2 weeks break before going for IAP. I'll make full use of the 2 weeks to polish up my portfolio! InsyaAllah, I will!

On a side note, we're currently on the verge of entering the month of Sya'ban. And next month will be the month full of blessings...Ramadan al-Mubarak :)

Assalamualaikum ya akhi ya ukhti :) ,

Alhamdulillah, I just returned from attending a mini forum at the mosque. The topic of the discussion was "Rumah Tangga... dan Lift". Last week, when I got to know 'bout this, I was asking myself, is there anything wrong with the topic? I was kinda puzzled too...Coz normally people would say rumah tangga, but right now, "rumah lift"? After thinking through, I think it kinda make sense and that triggers me to attend tonight's mini forum.

I went to the mini forum with mum and dad, together with lil' bro. The mosque wasn't full and there are many empty spaces left unoccupied. I wonder where did all these people go...Maybe they're attending forums or syarahan at other places(maklumlah, dah dekat-dekat bulan Ramadan ni, banyak tempat menganjurkan forum/syarahan dengan topik-topik yang menarik). Mudah-mudahan, tebakanku tepat...Haha.

Anyway, tonight's forum teramatlah menginsafkan. The Ustaz started off by sharing about Tauhid. From knowing to having faith in Allah, kekhusyuqan in doing ibadahs(solat,puasa, zakat etc.). Later on, he gave some examples and excerpts from the Quran and hadith. This part really touched me and make me reflect deeply on myself. MasyaAllah!

Then, the other Ustaz who is from R.O.M.M., shared his knowledge and experience on dealing with marriage affairs cases. He also defined the topic of the forum(Yay, my doubts are clarified once again!)

Next, I just wanna share a quote from a book that I'm currently reading(Psikologi Cinta- Dato' Dr Mohd Fadzilah Kamsah and Syaidatun Nazirah Abu Zahrin) :

"Cinta tidak pernah dinafikan dalam agama, mahupun dalam undang-undang. Kehadirannya diiktiraf oleh seluruh manusia dan Tuhan. Cuma yang menjadi perhitungan adalah pengamal cinta tersebut, adakah berlandaskan hukum Tuhan, atau semata-mata menurutkan nafsu sahaja. Betulnya cinta terletak kepada cara dan perlaksanaannya."

This event occured on the night of 27 Rejab, a year before the Hijrah. This event has many important lessons for us, for those who love Allah s.w.t. and His beloved Prophet Muhammad s.a.w.

-First is that this epic journey showed the honourable status of the Holy Prophet s.a.w. and how Allah s.w.t. comforted the Prophet and gave him hope to continue with his mission for the sake of Allah s.w.t.

-Another important lesson from Israk and Mikraj is the obligation of daily prayers upon the ummah of Prophet Muhammad s.a.w. Prayers will strengthen our Muslim identity.

-In this journey of the Prophet, he was also shown several punishments for those who went against the guidance of Allah s.w.t. in which to inform the ummah of the Prophet s.a.w. well in advance.

Peace be upon u...

Yesterday was the musollah cleaning day at NYP. I reached YCK at 10am sharp, and waiting at the control station was my lil sis and another sister, who is also her friend. Went to school together to meet the rest of the NYPMSN members at Mac'D. This time, most of them were there with the exception of a few members, who came a little later. There were also some new faces who attended. We started splitting ourselves into 2 groups and assigned the job allocations, so that the clean-ups will double up in speed... And true enuff, it did and it's less tiring too! :)

Went to the open space at the school's fitness corner for the pre Ramadan event briefing.

The briefing was lead by Bro Azhar and Sis Huda. What's different this time of round is that, I'm part of the organizing committee. :) Lol.

Well, there's always a first time and this will be my first time helping out in the organizing comm. for an iftar event. I hope i can handle it, InsyaAllah.

What i'm worried about is my schedule...It's kinda packed right now, having to complete my assignments including MINOR before starting my IAP this coming September, the start of Ramadan. That is what u'll get when the course that u're in don't have exams...

Well, let's be positive about it and strive for the best... Ain't no mountain high enuff ! Ameen :)

After the briefing, I rushed down to the NLB'S central library at Bugis to meet-up with my Art & Design History team members to discuss and do research for the Assignment.

kylebalda's masterclass

I'm currently attending Kyle Balda's masterclass in school since yesterday. :) I'm glad that there are still empty spaces after monday's class. Actually, the class started on Monday, but I only got to know 'bout the empty spaces on Monday evening. The class was supposed to be for those top few students, but in the end was open to those who are interested due to low attendence... I finally decided to come as I do not want to waste this great opportunity to learn from one of the experts in the animation industry. The classes and lectures has been great so far... The hands ons are really helpful, and I kinda like the one-on-one tutoring as I can learn a lot from it, as compared to normal lectures.

About the masterclass:

Above all, the goal of the class is to help animators increase their skills for creating believable and entertaining performances in the characters they animate. There are two major aspects in the métier of animation that contribute to this. The first is that the characters move in believable ways and have proper weight and physicality. And the second, more important aspect is that the characters think and feel through strong acting, so they may come alive on screen. Only when the audience empathizes with the characters can they be effectively led through the story of the film. The material in the Masterclass aims to answer to these questions of acting and physicality to make believable characters and tell entertaining stories.

On the practical side, the Masterclass is a two-day lecture and demonstration series designed to offer an approach to 3D character animation that is widely used in feature animation production. For the most part, 3D animation schools and educational materials focus only software training. What is often missing is the knowledge of how to skilfully approach acting, storytelling and staging, the fundamentals of natural and appealing character performances.Though there are detailed explanations of the major animation studio production pipelines, few studios have the luxuriously sized budgets of giants such as Pixar, Dreamworks and Sony. Most European studios for example have animation expectations upwards of 15 seconds a week per animator. Compare this to the 4-5 second a week average of the major studios and it becomes clear that that a solid methodology is necessary not only to achieve a good result but to do so in a timely manor. For the most part, the material in the workshop is not technical. There are no explanations of a particular software.

However, a lot will be said about the graph editor and dope sheet tools, which are universal among all 3D animation software programs. The majority of the topics covered in the two days will have to do with the approach and completion of 3D character animation, the procedures used and tricks of the trade. Salamz ya akhi, ya ukhti...

How are u guys doing so far? Great? I hope all of u are doing very well insyaAllah. :) I know that exams are just a few weeks away for some of u and I would like to wish all the best! For those who are not doing very well thus far, don't give up coz it's still not too late to catch up!

Minor project has been extended!!! Phew!! At least got more time to finish and polish our stuffs... Well, that doesn't mean there's more time to slack! Lol. In fact, given this opportunity, I shall make full use of it. (*semangat nampak)

As sem 1 is approaching to an end, things tend to be much more tighter. The tense and pressure is rising and more deadlines will have to be met. Now is the greatest test of patience and discipline. No more time to fool around, coz now it's serious business. Maybe I took too long to realise this but it's still better than not realising it at all right? Maybe i'm too relaxed...Or maybe i've been slacking a little too much...Arghhh...What matters most right now is to focus, and to make full use of the remaining time to strive for the best...

I think it's best for me to revise on what Allah s.w.t. have said in the Qur'an in surah Al-Asr...

Salamz,

I paid a visit to my former secondary school just now with Lil Sis and her friend, Ain(all of us are ex-students of the school,lol ! ). Not a normal kinda visit, but a visit to witness a musical performed by our fellow juniors of Teck Whye Secondary... I shall rate the musical as "ok", but I think there are quite a number of flaws that affects the whole show. Well, I don't wanna dwell too much on the negative side of it, but I really hope that that this will be a learning point for them to improve and perform better in the future...(This includes the organizing committee as well as the performers).

Enuff of that,moving on...

Sentimental memories went through my mind as soon as I step into my former secondary school. At a certain point of time, it really affected me that I almost wanted to cry...But I kept myself calm and composed and continued to act as if nothing happenned. Lol. It has been 3 years since I left the school and I rarely paid my former school and teachers a visit. Main reason is because i'm too busy to come back and the other reason is that most of my teachers "graduated" together with me. I don't know how else to describe my thoughts and feelings, but I guess it goes with something like this:

My former secondary school (Teck Whye Secondary) will be performing a drama musical this Friday ! Yeah!!! Actually, I just got to know about it after reading yesterday's Berita Harian newspaper article...I hope i'll be able to make it...InsyaAllah.

The Singapore Toy & Comic Convention is now on till 29th June 08, which is tomorrow. This morning,I came down with Bro Firdaus to check out the first-ever Singapore Toy & Comic Convention, held at Suntec City Convention Centre. The place was flooded with people from all over the region. We could hardly walk as the walking space was "airtight". However, we managed to visit all the booths and collect some freebies ! my uncle's wedding

Assalamu'alaikum,

I would like to start off this post with my uncle's wedding ceremony. Alhamdulillah, overall,from my point of view, the ceremony went smoothly except for some unexpected hiccups that went out of our control. But again, Alhamdulillah, we managed to deal with that quite calmly...

The planning stage were done many months back,and last friday(if i've not mistaken) was the start of the 'rewang'. 'Rewang' was fun actually,although it's a bit tiring, but I think the joy of helping is what that makes me forget all those. As agreed by my lil Sis and my cousin(Shima) in their blogs, I should say that I also agree that the Dinner Session was fun and entertaining. I also got to meet with my uncle's friends whom I played soccer with at Fico Sports Hub last month.(They are all friendly people.) :)

Unfortunately, i can't really 'rewang' much on Sunday as I got to go for my DPIA class and guess what? I'm having the Faraidh exams that day...Oh man! But not to worry, i've done my preparations earlier, forseeing this would happen. Phew! Otherwise, I would have been 'dead'. But Alhamdulillah, the paper was not as tough as I expected. (This coming Sunday will be Tafsir exams..)

Last but not least, I would like to congratulate Paman(*a calling for uncle) for his wedding. Congrats Paman ! :)

Assalamu'alaikum,

I don't know what to blog about right now, but I think I just wanna share the schedule for my 2 weeks break.Haha...(What am I saying?Lol!) -stress*

Well, my 2 weeks break is equivallent to this equation: Assignments + Exams=2 weeks holiday

Nowadays, holiday to me is just like normal school days...Assignments,Tests/Exams,and etc... No more full rest for me,especially when i'm in year 3 now. I don't like it when for the past 1 year, my holiday breaks are always occupied with DPIA exams.It's not that I hate taking exams,but I feel that I need to have at least a week of clean break time.Lol.My situation now is like now is the 2 weeks poly term break, and during this time, I also have to sit for DPIA exams, plus doing some other school assignments...Very tiring..Then, right after the 2 weeks "break", school starts again. It's like the wheel is spinning non-stop for me.

I just hope that the DPIA schedule will be revised, and not have the exams scheduled during the term/semester break.

NYPMSN Rocks !

The day started "badly" yesterday as it was raining heavily when we were about to kick-start the first event for the day, which is the TMSN Teh Tarik Meeting. But the weather didn't dampened our spirits to carry on with the event. The meeting was held at Ngee Ann Polytechnic and was participated by students(from MS-ses) representing various tertiary institutions(NUS,NTU,SIM,NP,NYP,SP and TP). Syaheer,Azhar,Erni,Huda and myself attended on behalf of NYPMSN.

I was really impressed with how the bros. and sis. get their points and thoughts accross. It was really impactful and something to ponder upon. Insyaallah, i hope i'll be like them sooner or later,Amin. But sadly, we had to go off early for the NYPMSN Alumni Gathering at Pasir Ris Park.

We arrived late due to some "technical problems". But Alhamdulillah, the event was carried out smoothly after that, although we were quite short of time. Kudos to Bro. Hilwan and the rest of the Alumnis who have organised the event and also many thanks to the Comms. and members who have made the event possible.

I enjoyed the whole event, really! The games that were being played was really fun and enjoyable. Soccer and Rounders were my favourite(although it was my first time playing rounders,lol). I would also like to apologise to the bros. whom i've slide- tackled and to Sis Sheedah for the soccer ball that hit you due to my miss kick.I'm really,really sorry guys. It's not that i did it on purpose, but a point to note is that when it comes to my passion(soccer), I sometimes can go "out of control".Lol!

Food/drinks were also very,very nice(Fried chicken,mee,muffin,cakes and etc.) :)
(random fact/s: I'm a die hard fan of cookies,muffins,and puffs. And i'm called the 'Cookie Monster' at home.Lol!)

Moral of the story is that I really enjoyed yesterday !

Wooo! The Ayat-Ayat Cinta mini forum at Al-Khair Mosque yesterday night was a sensational one! Many attended, but not to what I expected(an all teenage thing). It was a mix between the young and the veteran.Lol. I enjoyed it though, many doubts that I had before I came for the mini forum have been clarified after the event.Alhamdulillah !

nite's out

Salamz guys...(*sleepy)

Yea, just wanna share with u peeps that yesterday, my NYPMSN pals and myself went for the YAQIN Nite's Out programme. This event is actually a collaboration between Al-Muttaqin Mosque(YAQIN-youths) and NYPMSN. Not many turned up, but overall I think the event went quite well, Alhamdulillah.It's NYPMSN's second collaboration with the YAQINs (the 1st one happenned 2 years back and it was an Iftar event).

For the whole event, I like the games part the most.The most memorable part was I think when we played the "Attitude Control".Haha. I was supposed to act like an attitude problem guy(the sleepy one),making things hard for the leader to control the team. The rest of my team members also played their part in this attitude control thingy.

Out of all the members/participants playing this game, I think i'm the most weak in acting.I just can't simply do it(becoming a problematic guy). In the end, I ended up helping my leader and do the aeroplane. I was also so called "bashed up" for that.Lol.

The event didn't manage to be completed as planned due to bad weather conditions and some other factors...

I made quite a number of new friends during the event. I also found a DPI(Perdaus) friend, and we exchanged a few thoughts and experiences on DPI and also compared the differences between the DPI in Andalus and Perdaus. I'm actually "frustrated" to know that my DPI is the only one that offers a one week holiday after the exams.Like 'wallaw, where can like this...Both also DPI what?How come they can get a one month break?...'

Okay enufffff......Lol!

To see the event as a whole, I think there are quite a number of lessons to be learnt and brought home. I believe that more things that went loose, needs and can be tightened,especially timing.We need to stick to the schedule.Planning/briefing needs to be done more carefully so as to prevent any hiccups during the event. Other than that, I think we did alright.

Sidetrack: We finished the mussollah cleaning at around 12:15pm...Yay!Can go home rest after that.Haha.

I also noticed that this syarahan clashes with the C.P.R.(Cakap Pasal Remaja) at the Darul Ghufran Mosque.Haiz... I feel like going for both ! But I think I'll just go for the Al-Khair one. Lol.

I went to watch a movie with Firdaus and Azhar at the Cathay, Causeway Point. Well, not Ayat-Ayat Cinta, but Congkak, lol. After the Friday prayers at Al-Muttaqin, we made our way to the cinema but couldn't reach there on time to watch A-A-C, which starts at 2.30pm. We only reach Woodlands at about 2.30pm and found out that all the 3 ques at the ticket counter was packed. After that, we decided to watch a different movie that starts a while later and the movie happened to be CONGKAK...

To me, i find that the movie has quite a good storyline, good build-up, but contains quite a few anti-climax. I also find that in this story,the elements of horror and suspense has been blended well enough that audience can hardly differentiate between those two, and that's probably the reason why many find it "not scary". The Dolby Surround sound system is the heart of the movie. Without it, the movie will fall flat ! Every important detail of the sound was captured, placed at the right place, right time, making the audience shocked and anticipating the next action !

I also find that although the "nenek"(acted by Ruminah Sidek) holds a minor role, her brilliant acting is very impactful.

Not everything was filled with horror and suspense, in fact, there were also several hilarious scenes that I just can't simply forget. The thing I like about this movie is that it has the Islamic touch to it, not like many other horror movies. It gives the solution to what needs to be done during emergencies like if someone gets possessed, and etc. .

Overall, i would rate this movie BEST... :)

If you guys wanna know more, don't forget to catch this movie !

Just got back from visiting my paternal granny. I really miss her.It's been quite a while since I last pay her a visit. Good news... She still look as healthy as before, the only thing is that her eyes aren't as good. My aunts persuaded her to go for a medical check-up, but she refused. I guess it's normal for grandparents not liking to go for medical check-ups.

What a busy week this week and the upcoming weeks ! Aargh...A tough one to deal with, but have to. My laptop "kena" virus last Saturday and I got it fixed only this morning coz no time..Haiz..Tiring and at the same time frustrating as I have to back-up all my files...The anti-virus software doesn't seem to help at all.Well,Alhamdulillah it's all over, so let's forget it.

Recently, I've been thinking of what I wanna do in the near future. Work,futher studies, what? What exactly do I wanna do? Very stressful at times when it comes to this. I do have some career paths that i've considered and passionate at, but the problem is, which one should I choose? How do I know that the path I take is the best for me? Based on some cross references i've done from the people I know, it's true that you can't predict your future . Even if you've planned it so meticulously well!

I guess it comes back to the notion of, "We plan, Allah decides."

Salamz u'all ! Haha, it's nice to be on a Fri-day again... I'm quite tired today after my drawing class(3 hours of drawing while standing). Part of the reason is also due to the aches on my body, and also the swell on my right hand that i'm still experiencing after wednesday's tennis practice with Haziq @ C.C.K Stadium.(That's also the reason I can't make it for the briefing @ Al-Muttaqin)

It's been almost 5 months since I last played tennis.lol. We spent the first 1/2 an hour marking up our skills and spent the remaining 1 hour playing match, which I won 6-4. Yeah !

Anyway I just wanna ask, what topic do u guys wanna hear/discuss/share for the next tazkirah ? The thing is that I wanna make the tazkirah session more interactive, fun, benefitial and not just "u talk, I listen" kinda thing so, if u guys got any suggestions, feel free to drop me an e-mail or tag me k ? Does that ring the bell to u guys? This quote may sound familiar to some of you, or to the people who might have used the quote. Well, that’s not the main point ‘bout why i’m writing this. The point is this, let’s not stop at just knowing and using the quote/s or verses that we know. Let’s go deeper than that. Let’s research on it to get a better understanding of what we are saying, or currently using. Knowledge, without practise is useless. Let’s reflect upon ourselves...And of course, neither one of us is perfect. Therefore, we need to remind each other. But let’s not forget that in this world, God has created many kinds of human beings with different attitudes, way of thinking, family backgrounds, so on and so forth. So, let’s be tolerant and help one another to do good. If a person has done something unpleasant, let’s not be indirect and talk things behind his/her back as that will lead to nothing, in fact, that will just bring unhappiness and maybe, segregation, na’uzubillah. What we can do to help in this kinda situation is that, we can approach him in a nice way, not harsh or something that that person can’t accept. A little at a time, insya’allah, Allah will help us in our earlier intention/s.

School started late for me today. I left home for my Friday prayers(Al-Muttaqin) at 12. I met Bro. Iskandar in the train at Woodlands.He gave me that "you seems familiar" look. Lol. I asked where he was heading, he said he was going to the Sultan Mosque for some meeting after the prayers.

I arrived at Al-Muttaqin at around 12.45 pm. Then I met Ishak,he was just beside me.Lol. After the prayers, we chatted for awhile then we left. After that,I met up with Azhar, Yat, Syah and Yat's friend, and went to school together with them.

I had my drawing class at 3pm. The class was supposed to end at 6, but the lecturer didn't get to finish what he needed to teach, so he extended the lesson for another 30 mins. Ahhh... but it's okay, coz the lesson 'bout drawing human gestures was actually quite interesting that I can hardly feel the 3 hours fly past me.

And....yea,lastly, I attended the NYPMSN meeting though I was late..Sorry guys.

Cristiano Ronaldo was unlucky to miss the penalty.Good news for Barcelona as Man Utd won't have the away goal advantage.lol.But that also means that Barca will have to work really hard to beat Man Utd at Old Trafford.

The Messi-Deco-Iniesta-Eto'o set-piece combination was perfect but unfortunately it didn't end up with a goal. =(

Barca should really have won this match.(*I thought)

All I want to say is that,Man U beware,Barcelona will beat the odds and go through to the final!!!

Gearing Up !

It has been almost 2 weeks of school now and I can feel the workload plus pressure building up one step at a time. First week was quite slack for me but as soon as this week started, I can sense that I need to gear up and be prepared for the upcoming challenges, including assignments,Minor Project, IAP and FYP that will be coming pretty soon.

Planning is very crutial,as "failing to plan is planning to fail".

Aside from that, I'm forseeing that this semester will be more fun and exciting than previous semesters,partly because of the new modules i'm taking which comprises of Audio Creation, Character Animation 2, Art Design and History, Figures and Animals(drawing),MOCAP(Motion Capture) and lastly the Minor Project.

But for sure, with fun comes the part of working,so as to ensure that I don't just enjoy what i'm learning, but also working hard/smart to achieve the goals that i've set for myself!

Sidetrack: I met my secondary school pal Fang Zhen at the school's Koufu this afternoon=). It's been very long since we last met. I'm also glad to know and see him in NYP, continuing his studies after NITEC. Good job man,keep it up!

SETIAP insan pasti mahukan kesenangan, kesejahteraan, kenikmatan dan keselesaan. Tidak ada sesiapa yang mahu hidupnya dipenuhi kesusahan, kesengsaraan dan diselubungi masalah berpanjangan.Kadangkala atas sebab tertentu seseorang itu mengalami bermacam masalah penyakit jiwa seperti tekanan perasaan, runsing, resah gelisah dan lebih parah lagi boleh menyebabkan seseorang tidak dapat membuat pertimbangan dengan betul.

Sebenarnya apabila kita merujuk kepada al-Quran, memang dijelaskan sebab penyakit itu berlaku antaranya seseorang itu tidak dapat menerima ujian Allah.Contoh, apabila seseorang itu diberikan ujian oleh Allah sama ada berbentuk kesusahan, bala bencana seperti banjir, kemarau, kebakaran, kemiskinan, kematian atau penyakit, maka jiwanya akan mula gelisah dan berkeluh kesah.Begitu juga apabila Allah mengurniakan nikmat berupa kekayaan kepadanya, maka timbul sikap bakhil atau kedekut dalam dirinya untuk menolong orang yang memerlukan bantuan.Allah berfirman yang bermaksud: “Sesungguhnya manusia itu dijadikan bertabiat resah gelisah (lagi bakhil kedekut). Apabila ia ditimpa kesusahan, ia sangat resah gelisah. Dan apabila ia beroleh kesenangan, ia sangat bakhil kedekut. Kecuali orang-orang yang mengerjakan sembahyang, iaitu mereka yang tetap mengerjakan sembahyangnya.” (Surah al-Ma’arij, ayat 19-23)

Tekanan perasaan juga berlaku disebabkan seseorang itu tidak mengingati Allah, kurang menghayati dan melaksanakan ajaran agama. Mereka lebih mementingkan tuntutan hawa nafsu semata-mata tanpa mempedulikan keperluan rohaniah.Mereka lebih suka berhibur dan melupakan amal salih yang menjurus kepada takwa seperti solat, membaca al-Quran, berzikir dan sebagainya. Maka tidak mustahil insan sebegini akan mudah mengalami penyakit jiwa atau tekanan perasaan.

Allah berfirman yang bermaksud: “Dan siapa yang berpaling ingkar dari ingatan dan petunjuk-Ku, maka sesungguhnya baginya kehidupan yang sempit (resah gelisah dan tidak tenteram jiwanya) dan Kami akan himpunkan dia pada hari kiamat dalam keadaan buta (meraba-raba dalam kesesatan seperti keadaannya di dunia).” (Surah Thaha, ayat 124)Amat mendukacitakan pada masa ini ada kalangan umat Islam mengabaikan pendidikan al-Quran, tidak mengikut petunjuk dan bimbingan al-Quran dalam urusan kehidupan mereka, apatah lagi menggunakannya sebagai penawar mengubati penyakit jiwa yang mereka alami.

Ada antara kita cuba menyelesaikan masalah dengan cara bertentangan syarak seperti berjudi, meminum arak dan mengambil dadah. Bahkan ada menjadikan orang lain sebagai tempat melepaskan geram seperti melakukan penderaan terhadap isteri atau anak, memukul atau membunuh orang dan berkemungkinan juga bertindak membunuh diri sendiri.Semua itu dilakukan kerana mereka beranggapan dengan cara begitu saja permasalahan mereka dapat diatasi.

Hakikatnya, perlakuan sebegitu hanya akan menambahkan lagi kekusutan jiwa atau tekanan perasaan.Sesungguhnya, bagi memperoleh suasana hidup aman damai, sejahtera, harmoni dan tenang jiwa, agama Islam menggariskan panduan yang sangat berkesan untuk merawat penyakit jiwa atau tekanan perasaan, antaranya:# Sentiasa berzikir (mengingati Allah). Allah berfirman yang bermaksud: “...(Allah) memberi petunjuk ke jalan agama-Nya, sesiapa yang rujuk kepada-Nya; (iaitu) orang-orang yang beriman dan tenang tenteram hati mereka dengan zikrullah. Ketahuilah! Dengan zikrullah itu, tenang tenteramlah hati manusia.” (Surah al-Ra’d, ayat 27-28)#

Melaksanakan segala perintah Allah dengan mengerjakan suruhan dan meninggalkan segala larangan-Nya. Firman Allah yang bermaksud: “Adapun orang yang memberikan apa yang ada padanya ke jalan kebaikan dan bertakwa (mengerjakan suruhan Allah dan meninggalkan segala larangan-Nya) serta ia mengakui dengan yakin akan perkara yang baik, maka sesungguhnya Kami memberikan kemudahan untuk mendapat kesenangan (syurga). Sebaliknya orang yang bakhil daripada berbuat kebajikan dan merasa cukup dengan kekayaan dan kemewahannya serta ia mendustakan perkara yang baik, maka sesungguhnya Kami akan memberikannya kemudahan untuk mendapat kesusahan dan kesengsaraan (neraka).” (Surah al-Lail, ayat 5-10)# Menyucikan jiwa dengan menjauhi daripada segala sifat mazmumah (sifat yang tercela) seperti hasad dengki, fitnah, takbur (menyombong diri), riak, mengumpat dan terlalu cintakan dunia.Allah berfirman yang bermaksud: “Sesungguhnya berjayalah orang yang menjadikan dirinya - yang sedia bersih - bertambah-tambah bersih (dengan iman dan amal kebajikan). Dan sesungguhnya hampalah orang yang menjadikan dirinya – yang sedia bersih itu - susut dan terbenam kebersihannya dengan sebab kekotoran maksiat.” (Surah al-Syam, ayat 9-10)

Sesungguhnya kekuatan iman berperanan sebagai benteng dalam mengharungi cabaran kehidupan di dunia ini. Oleh itu, dengan kembali kepada ajaran agama dan mengamalkannya jiwa manusia akan terselamat daripada kegelisahan dan kekusutan.Jangan disebabkan terlalu sibuk mengejar kesenangan dan kemewahan dunia mengakibatkan kita lupa kepada agama.

Sesungguhnya Allah memberikan jaminan bahawa manusia yang ikhlas melaksanakan segala ajaran-Nya akan mempunyai hati dan jiwa yang tenteram.Sama-samalah berdoa semoga Allah sentiasa memberikan kepada kita kehidupan aman, tenteram dan jiwa yang tenang.

Let's move on...That's what i'm currently and constantly telling myself. I've reflected on what i've done so far, and I feel that it's already time for me to move on. If I want to succeed in my life and my career, I got to move on. I admit that sometimes,or should I say more often than not, I'm shadowed with my past self, and at times my past achievements.

Hey! What's past is over, so let's move on! Let's aim higher and try to achieve greater heights. Come on Azmi! You've done it before, and you can do it again and even better this time. Believe in yourself.

Challenges come once in a while, and sometimes the "test" from Him is so great that I feel i can't withstand it. However, I know that Allah s.w.t. will never send us "tests" that we ourselves can't handle. Oh Allah, please guide me to the right path and please give me the strength for me to be able to face all the challenges with patience, iman and taqwa. Ameen.

ANC (Annual Night Cycling 08)

Salamz, these are some of the pics I managed to capture during the night cycling event. It starts with the brothers loading the rental bikes onto the lorry at Pasir Ris Park. I didn't manage to capture all the moments during the event as I was busy helping out with all the other facis.

Summary of the event: Before the night cycling event actually starts, many things were done to ensure that the programme runs smoothly.On the actual day itself, before the participants come to report themselves at the mosque (As-Syafa'ah), the facis had an ice breaking game among ourselves, followed by a briefing on what's gonna happen, the rules and safety, and so on...

Then, the head facis (including myself) went on to collect the rental bikes from Pasir Ris Park, and then doing all the unloading of the bikes at As-syafa'ah.

About an hour before 11pm (when the night cycling event will commence), a total of 10 groups were asked to present their motto,vision,challenges, and etc. for the night cycling.

We kicked-off from As-syafa'ah to An-Nur,then to Al-Iman and lastly, our final destination, Al-Huda.

I should say that this event is a success,with many things and experience to be learnt and brought home.It's been a fun-filled event, shiok,tiring :) and the list goes on...

Assalamu'alaikum ya akhi ya ukhti,

I went to NUH with my mom earlier this morning to accompany my younger cousin for her medical appointment.Btw,the free shuttle to NUH is no longer from Buona Vista mrt station, it's now picking up passengers at Dover station, the bus stop opp. Singapore Polytechnic.

I was quite tired and at the same time, giddy. I was doing my paternal elder cousin's engagement video which had been put on hold for about 2 months or so, until wee ours in the morning, and i guess that explains my condition. lol. That video is now dealt and done with.Alhamdulillah... *relieved

The holidays almost come to an end and i guess it's time to get myself back to "schooling" mode as soon as possible. lol. I've been enjoying it so far, especially my Saturdays. Haha, of course, that's the day where i'll be at the field playing soccer with my pals and some *new friends from Myanmar and some,from around the neighbourhood. I have scored 2 goals and assisted 2 out of my 4 appearances. It's very fun and entertaining playing soccer with people whom you do not know, especially those from other countries.

Whereas from Singapore, we have the pakciks and ah-peks who always never fail to keep me smiling and laughing, particularly when they try to show off their "skills".
:)

But I do admire some of them, for some, their skills really amazed me.

Dilemma ...

Why must there always be a dilemma of having the things that I love to do, all occurring at once
? These kinda stuffs happen not just once, but many times! Sometimes I just can't stand it, and it's rather hard to make up my mind to decide on just one thing to do from the two or maybe more that I like.

But sometimes when I ponder, I realized that this is life. Life is a matter of choice.Whether to do a certain thing, or the other. We have to decide for ourselves, no matter how timid you are. But the decision we make has to be right, and that's the challenging part.

From what I've learn, there's always a reason / "hikmah" behind what's happened. And these things most of the time we can't see and can't make sense out of it until we cool down and start to think and research the meaning behind it. And that's what makes life more interesting.
(*I guess I need to be more patient and work on that aspect.)

NYP bags 4th S R Nathan Challenge Trophy

We've done it again! The NYP football team has won the S R Nathan Challenge Trophy 2008 by beating ITE 2-0 in the final played at NTU on 17 March 2008. It was a sweet double over ITE - our team also beat them in last year’s final. This was also NYP’s fourth trophy since the tournament began in 2002.

Unlike last year’s final, which was settled on penalties, NYP won this year’s final by a convincing score line. Two well taken second half goals by Muhammed Muhaimin Bin Ngaliman and Zylfadli Bin Zainal Abidin sealed the game for NYP.

Team Captain Farhan Farook was ecstatic about the victory. “It was a difficult game, as our opponents were strong and the pitch conditions less than ideal. But we played to strategy and showed great teamwork and mental strength. I wish to thank the fans and management for their great support; their presence made a difference for us.”

But our boys are certainly not resting on their laurels. They are hoping to win next year’s tournament to achieve an unprecedented hat-trick of consecutive victories. If they succeed, they'll keep the trophy for good. Go for it, NYP!

Wow! I didn't know that "Imaginary Friends" were the ones who did the paintings and photoshoot and the website and everything for the Singapore National soccer team ! I was surprised when I visited Singapore's nikefootball site and saw "IF" in the credits.

Not satisfied with that, I visited their site and yea....true enough, it was them who did that ! I really like their works! Specifically this one...

Here's a caption they said in their website:"

To celebrate the unveiling of the new Nike kit for the national soccer team, the Singapore Lions, Imaginary was commissioned to paint 5 paintings featuring the spirit of the red lions. Truth be told, our guys are more commonly found in front of the PS2 instead of on the field, but hey, at least its playing Winning Eleven right?

Kudos to the art team- Artgerm, Skan, Kinsun, Svetlin, Mr. B and to Clare’s leading on the project which was done in less than 2 weeks!

These red lions can now be found on huge multi-storey banners all over Singapore. Now if only the guys got out of the studio more

Mom, lil' bro and I went down to Orchard yesterday afternoon for some window and non-window shopping.The reason I get to go out yesterday which is also a Sunday is because it's a DPIA school holiday.

Our first pit-stop was Art-Friend @ Ngee Ann City. We went there coz my mom wanted to buy some craft stuffs and survey some things for the preparations for my uncle's wedding this June. The place was neat and tidy and that eased us in finding the things we planned to purchase, compared to the one at Bras Basah Complex which is more untidy and disorganized.

From there, we went to McDonald's at the basement for our lunch. After that, we saw this Men's Bazaar sale thingy and so we went down. My aim was to just window shop.There were all kinds of men's wear of almost all type of brands being put up on sale, mostly selling at 1/2 price ! After browsing and gazing at some of the things, my attention was hooked to the Levi's jeans section. My aim was mislead when I bought a pair of Levi's loose fit jeans at a price of $55.00 . The jeans originally cost $145.90 ,so I thought it was a good buy as you won't find an original Levi's jeans priced at half price so often.

We had our Zuhur at Al-Falah, and then we went to Borders bookstore at Wheelock Place. The place was huge indeed and the best thing is that, you can grab some books to sit down and read. There's even benches around for that purpose. At some point of time, it makes me think that Borders is some kind of a library bookstore. Lol.

Out of the many sections there, i was more interested in the arts and the religion section. There are many good books here where you can flip through and read "thoroughly", before you decide to buy it. Well, I found 2 of these books interesting to read.

I went for my arabic class knowing that the Lions will be playing tonight. It was a hard dicision for me to make, to whether stay at home and watch the live telecast, or to go for the class. It took me awhile to think when I finally decided to go for class. I left home at about 6.50pm so that i'll be able to have my maghrib at Al-Iman,where i'll be having my class too.

The class (taught by Ustaz Zahri) usually starts at 8. But this time, we waited but there was no signs of him coming.

My prediction was right! Ustaz didn't turn up, as told by pakcik Khalil who received an sms from him.

Wanna know the reason?......

His wife just gave birth ! (Alhamdulillah)

Haha...wad's next? I think u guys know the answer! Well, I went for Isyak at the mosque and then,I went straight home...

*sigh...

Not to worry, coz i've asked my lil' bro to record the match at my dad's pc earlier...lol

Syukur merupakan satu kalimah yang lazim didengar dan dilafaz tetapi jarang dilaksanakan. Mungkinkah ramai diantara kita yang bersyukur hanya di bibir sahaja namun tidak di hati, lantas, ianya tidak dapat diekspresikan melalui perbuatan dan tingkahlaku kita sehari-hari?
Adakah kita benar-benar bersyukur dengan apa yang kita miliki sekarang? Ataupun sudahkah kita bersyukur dengan apa yang telah diberi sebelum ini, sebelum kita berusaha untuk mencari lagi segala yang dihajati?

Sudah menjadi lumrah manusia untuk berusaha mencapai segala yang diingini demi memiliki kesejahteraan hidup.Misalnya,ada yang ingin mendapat kedudukan yang tinggi didalam pekerjaan,tidak kurang juga yang ingin gajinya dinaikkan,dan ada juga yang ingin mendapatkan markah yang lebih cemerlang didalam peperiksaan dan sebagainya.

Memang tidak salah untuk mengejar segala yang diimpikan.Namun,dalam kesibukan kita mengejar kesejahteraan hidup,janganlah pula kita lupa dari mana datangnya nikmat tersebut.Kita diwajibkan mensyukuri nikmat yang diperolehi,dan sesungguhnya mereka yang tidak bersyukur adalah mereka yang mengingkari nikmat Allah s.w.t..

Apa yang dimaksudkan dengan bersyukur itu adalah berterima kasih dengan apa yang telah kita nikmati.Tetapi,jangan pula disalah ertikan antara bersyukur dengan rasa cukup dengan apa yang ada.Kedua-dua ini merupakan dua entiti yang amat bebeza sekali.Bezanya ialah, dengan merasakan cukup dengan apa yang ada,ia menggambarkan seseorang itu sebagai seorang yang pemalas dan menjadikan itu sebagai alasan untuk tidak berusaha,manakala dengan bersyukur pula bemakna seseorang itu mensyukuri nikmat yang diberi,disamping usahanya untuk mencapai segala yang terbaik pada masa yang akan datang.

Maka dengan itu,tepuklah dada dan tanyalah hati kita samada adakah kita telah benar-benar mensyukuri nikmatNya dan memanfaatkannya di jalan yang betul.

Sesungguhnya Allah telah berfirman di dalam surah Ibrahim,ayat ke 7 yang bermaksud:

-"Dan (ingatlah juga), tatkala Tuhanmu memaklumkan: ""Sesungguhnya jika kamu bersyukur, pasti Kami akan menambah (nikmat) kepadamu, dan jika kamu mengingkari (nikmat-Ku), maka sesungguhnya azab-Ku sangat pedih."

Salamz Peeps!

Yesterday, i accompanied my Lil' Sis to SATA Jurong Medical Centre for a medical check-up, coz she'll be entering poly this new intake.There were loads of people and we had to wait super long. :(

Guess how long?
Ans: (3 hours)

That's how long it is.Although we had to wait that long, my time was spent by reading a book in preparation for the Islamic Civilization exam this Sunday.However, I only managed to read a few pages when a man, came to approach me(I think he's 30+ already).He didn't tell me his age when i asked him though.He started talking to me as though we've already known one another for years. I don't mind actually, coz i've experienced this situation before, not twice, but thrice ! Lol !

Apart from that, he seems to know quite a lot about my course in poly. He said he's interested in IT and digital media stuffs.We talked about animation, softwares that are used for animations, feature films etc. .

But I wonder why he didn't apply for Digital Media Design or even IT. Instead, when I asked him, he said he'll be joining Nursing in NYP. Before that, he did mention that he did sales and some other jobs before he finally decided to switch tracks. I didn't bother to ask him even further since he's so secretive,very different from the two other guys. Weird but True!

Alright...after the check-up, we went to Fuji Ice Palace to watch other people skate.It was very interesting and at the same time entertaining to see them. Some are are quite pro, whereas some are newbies like me!

I went ice-skating with a few of the NYPMSN members about 2 months ago. I really hope we can have another session, hopefully with more members and alumnis turning up this time, since its already semester break. We really need to make full use of this break, ya? Remember 5 before 5 as stated in surah Al-'Asr? (masa lapang sebelum datang masa sempit)

[Alhamdulillah, I have now recovered from my fever, flu and coughs. :) ]

Yesterday was a very exhausting but fun day for me.Why? Let me tell you why...

I made my debut to Madrasah Al-Irsyad early in the morning at around 8 plus in the morning for an APEX (Ace Psle EXams) IRSYAD 2008 programme.

What is APEX IRSYAD 2008?
Apex IRSYAD 2008 is a programme that aims to help madrasah Irsyad to excel and meet the bench-mark for 2008 PSLE. And the role of the mentors is to reinforce concepts being taught in class and be an inspiration for these Pri 6 students to excel in their studies.

Roles of Mentors
1.Reinforce study concepts
2.Motivate students and drive them to excellence
3.Spend 2-3 hours on Saturday mornings with a group of 5-10 students

If you guys and gals out there are interested to become a mentor for this pilot project, do inform me so that i can forward you the e-mail.

OK, getting back to where I stopped, after attending the APEX IRSYAD 2008 which ended at around 11 am, I went to nypmsn's musollah 's cleaning.But I think yesterday's one should be called upgrading, coz we mainly decorated and put up the new notice boards, and not much of the cleaning. This, ended at about 4 pm.

That's not all...

After that , I quickly went home, perform the Asar prayers and then grabbed my soccer boots to go to you know where....SOCCER FIELD.

I played till nearly Maghrib and got home at 7.30 pm. Then, i rushed to clean myself up, perform the maghrib prayers, and followed my family to the "Forum Perdana", organised by the Al-Khair Mosque in conjuction with the "Care and Share Carnival", also organised by the mosque.

It was a great forum, and I really enjoyed it. I got home with some new knowledge that before this, I wasn't aware of.

I was damn tired when i got home. I went to grab and ate some food in the kitchen, and then went to sleep....zzz..zzz..zzz...

What a Saturday for me.... :)

Currently Not In A Good Condition...

I'm totally sick since last sunday.Currently not in a good state as i'm having fever(38.5 degrees celsius), flu and coughs.I'm on mc and didn't attend school today.But insyaallah,He will give me the strength and the wellness to go to school tomorrow.Next week will be my last week in school before the semester break.

The results for the IAP(Industrial Attachment Programme) is already out. My IAP will commence on the 1st of September, till the 21st of November 2008.

Yeah, which means my IAP will start on the 1st day of Ramadan. I don't know how it would be like,but i'm totally looking forward.

By the way, FUSION 2008, which is the annual Graduation Show for the year 3 DMD students will be held on the 6 - 8 March @ the NYP Auditorium.

If you have friends or relatives interested in interactive & digital media, there is no better time to see a showcase of graduate work.

Cinta sudah dianggap sama penting dengan keperluan asasi.Makanan, pakaian dan perlindungan kelihatan tidak sempurna dan tidak lengkap tanpa cinta yang mengiringi setiap individu yang berperasaan dan berfikiran normal.Cinta adalah fitrah semula jadi yang dianugerahkan Allah kepada manusia.Malah cinta juga wujud di kalangan haiwan,dan makhluk-Nya yang lain. Cinta yang didambakan adalah cinta yang merangsang perasaan, menaikkan semangat perjuangan dan memberi makna dalam kehidupan.Cinta yang diperlukan adalah cinta yang menguatkan bukan melemahkan, cinta yang menyucikan perasaan dan kehormatan, bukan mengotorkan dan merosakkannya.Pendek kata, keinginan melakukan apa jua kerja memerlukan cinta sebagai pendorong.Semangat untuk bangkit diperoleh melalui cinta tulus yang sentiasa subur menuju ke arah penyempurnaannya.

Kata-kata 'cinta itu buta' adalah frasa yang mampu mencemarkan kemuliaan cinta.Ini kerana terdapat cinta yang menjadikan pengamalnya tidak dapat melihat kebenaran dan hakikat kehidupan yang sebenar.Dia mudah terjerumus ke dalam kancah maksiat.Cinta yang berlandaskan ilmu adalah sebaik-baiknya kerana mampu menjadi cahaya penyuluh kehidupan, yang menunjukkan jalan kebenaran, keadilan dan keamanan.

Manusia yang saling bercinta dengan penuh kesedaran menyedari mereka bertanggungjawab atas segala tindak-tanduk dan perbuatan mereka dalam percintaan. Mereka takut kepada perhitungan Allah, seandainya cinta yang mereka sanjung dan puja itu membawa kehancuran diri ataupun kemurkaan Allah.Oleh sebab itu,memahami hakikat cinta yang sebenar adalah penting supaya kita dapat membawa cinta yang kita pelihara dan sanjung itu ke tahap yang menjurus kepada kemuliaan anugerah Allah.

Imam Ghazali melihat cinta sebagai unsur yang menyenangkan dan memberi tarikan dalam hati manusia.Imam Qayyim al-Jauziyah mengupas secara terperinci soal cinta manusia dan cinta ketuhanan yang saling berkait antara satu sama lain.Ibnu Hazm pula banyak mengupas persoalan cinta sesama manusia tanpa melupakan ajaran Islam yang meletakkan beberapa batas dalam pergaulan dan percintaan.

Hakikatnya, cinta menjadikan manusia seorang pemikir yang tidak pernah alpa kepada apa yang dicintainya dan yang penting, cinta sebaik-baiknya menjadikan mereka manusia unggul pada zaman kehidupannya.

Arts and Islam

Salamz...I'm currently in year 1/sem 2 in Andalus's DPI and will be going to year 2 soon insyaallah. Over the past 5 weeks, we went through an Islamic Civilization module.

Well, basically, we learnt about the Islamic and World civilizations, intelectual and knowledge, role of arts in developing ummah, and many more.

The ustaz also covered some topics like the rise and fall of a civilization, and also discussed about the past Islamic intelectuals like Ibn Sina, Al-Ghazali, Al-Biruni, Ibn Khaldun etc.

Well, what actually caught my attention is the role of arts in developing ummah.Many muslims mislook at the importance of arts in the Islamic world.

Arts come in many forms. Be it in the form of language and literature, visuals, vocals, caligraphy, architecture, drawings etc. .Arts is encouraged in Islam as long as it doesn't mislead and go against the Islamic teachings.

For example in ibadah, arts isn't needed, however, the process towards obtaining Taqwa in ibadah requires art. Azan, zikr, selawat and even nasyids are some examples of an art, that constitutes the process of attaining Taqwa, in which when people listen to it,will evoke a feel/sense of Taqwa in them.

Enough has been said for now, although I know that my explanations are a bit too brief. If you wanna know more about the Islamic and World civilizations, I strongly encourage you guys to read up as I think it's quite important for us to know about our own Islamic, and the World's civilizations, about how it all started and ended, and also how it will end one day....

Tired....That's what i'm feeling right now. The week of sian-ness is coming to its peak! Week 17 will be my final lesson week, where all the assignments are to be submitted and week 18 will be the Minor submission week. After week 18, i'll be having my 2 weeks break before going for IAP. I'll make full use of the 2 weeks to polish up my portfolio! InsyaAllah, I will!

On a side note, we're currently on the verge of entering the month of Sya'ban. And next month will be the month full of blessings...Ramadan al-Mubarak :)

Let us prepare ourselves, and grab this opportunity to do as many good deeds as possible, semoga kita digolongkan dikalangan hamba-hambaNya yang beriman, bertaqwa dan yang beroleh kemenangan...Ameen. As we wouldn't know whether are we able to get the opportunity to meet the blessed months the next time of round.

Salams everyone....

Yea! Alhamdulillah, i'm back, blogging again.
I've been very, very busy with my assignments,assignments, and more assignments as year 2 is coming closer to its end.More and more BIG things await me this year. For example, this coming Thursday, my CodPit group will be doing a presentation on our animation clip in front of a total of 4 assessors.There will be 12 groups presenting(including my group).

However, out of these 12 groups, only the best 3 will be chosen to qualify for the annual 'Battle of the Concepts' super pitch, which will be held on the 4th of February 2008. There will be prizes for these 3 finalists, gold, silver, bronze and the best group will walk away with the 'Best of Concept' prize.

And for the annual 'Battle of the Concepts' super pitch, there will be a panel of 5 judges invited from SIDM's circle of industry partners from Games, Interactive Media and Animation. Lucasfilm and LucasArts, Scrawl Studios, KOEI and others have been invited as guests and judges.

Doa for me and my group ok? :)

That's not all! After that presentation thingy, my group, in fact all the groups will be doing our Studio Project 4 for 3 weeks straight!

In addition to that, i'm still unsure whether i'll be having my semester break, coz i still don't know which batch of the IAP(Industrial Attachment Programme) i'm in.

Batch 1 will be having their IAP immediately after the 3 weeks of studio project, whereas Batch 2 will be having theirs later this year...Lesson schedule for year 3 will be customized according to the batch we'll be posted into.

But one thing for sure, the results of the Batch postings will be released soon...

What a tight schedule ahead! Gotta be strong, insyaallah i'll make it through.

(Last week,on the 27th to the 30th of December 2007, my family went for a holiday tour in Malaysia. The places we covered were Putrajaya, KL, Sungai Klah and lastly, Cameron Highlands.It's quite an "adventure" for us towards the end of our tour...Imagine,when we have to switch 3 coaches on the way back to Singapore.lol)

I woke up this morning feeling nauseous and giddy.However, i went to school just now to complete my assignment(character animation), which i have already done so. I'm also planning to go to school tomorrow morning to finish up one more assignment before i leave for Malaysia that night.

I hope i can really finish the other assignment, just like the one i did today, Insyaallah.
I'll be back on Sunday night, insyaallah after maghrib.

Its basically work,work and work for me this week...

I really can't wait to to have my break and enjoy the cool breeze and mountain greeneries of Cameron Highlands.

I have been listening to religious songs lately to calm myself down, besides reading the Quran and doing some other ibadahs. Quite stressed out with school work actually.

But hey! It's worth it coz this morning i was just told that my team is allowed to continue with the Concept Development Pitch animation project. My team was one of the lucky ones that got chosen, out of seven teams i think, that compete. My team is in group 2. Although we were chosen, there are plenty of room to work on as we have to compete with the best from groups 1,3 and 4.

I have seen group one's work, and it's simply mind-blowing! However, i need to remember that every team has the chance to shine. I believe if I work even harder, i can help my team even further.

One more thing that makes my day today is that, my drawing module's lecturer actually likes my "character design's" cultural style. It's a malay cultural style by the way. I will post my character designs soon so, watch this space!

The lyrics is quite personal to me. It really describes my character, if I were to love someone. I will not betray her love and will also try my best to defend it.

It has been 8 days since i last updated my blog.I have been very busy last week and most likely this week too!

There are many deadlines to be met,be it DMD or DPI. However,i find that i'm not pushing myself too much as I supposedly should.I felt that I can achieve more if I push myself.

I gotta find that urgency in me to do well.Both in my studies, and in tennis.

I went for tennis this morning.I reached school at about 8.15 am when i'm supposed to come at 8.
Everyone were there and here i come like a "star", slowly making my way to the court.

As soon as i step into the court, coach greeted me,"Assalamualaikum!", and asked,"Siang datang hari ini?".

I answered,"Wa'alaikumussalam!", and i just smiled back at him, feeling guilty.
But i think coach know me very well and he understands.He then told me to immediately join the others in training.

This is my second time this month going for the tennis training after about 6 months m.i.a.(missing in action).

Even after 6 months missing training, my skills are still at the peak.Haha!

I feel a bit envy seeing my school team partner become the assistant coach.But,what to do,i can't sacrifice that six months training with the school team as i got many assignments to be completed.That's also what DMD is all about!

It's okay though, i just need to wait for the next competition and show them what i am made of!Now that i can manage my time better, i think i am good enough to be in the school team once again.

Well, that's a bit of my tennis life that i can share with you guys at the moment. Stay tuned for other interesting posts!

I got a migraine early this morning.

It was really painful and i hate it when it comes.Probably because i didn't take care of my health well enough these days...

I sleep late almost every night doing my schoolwork, have been eating too much fast-foods,done very few exercises, and the list goes on.

I must plan my time well and not waste too much time during the day(after school). I must also alocate time to do the right things at the right time...

Hmm...

The thing about me is that i like to do things at the last minute.Only then i will feel the pressure.

However,I know it very well that i got to kick out this bad habbit.

Anyways,I will try my best to kick out that bad habbit of mine.
